Artist Showcase
// Artist Showcase
Friday, March 12 – Sunday, March 14, 2010
(opening at 6 pm prior the Fernando Ortega concert on Friday, March 12)
The artist showcase is part of an entire weekend dedicated to the arts, Pulse: connecting arts to the heart of God. As part of Pulse, several artists will be offering workshops on Saturday, March 13. Cam Anderson (the Executive Director of CIVA, Christian in the visual Arts) will be offering a workshop entitled Called to the Visual Arts. Artist Betsy Delzer will be giving a workshop titled Translating the Word: a Visual Art Experience. See the workshops page for more information about these workshops. To register for the Pulse Arts Conference, go to the registration page.
Interested in showing at the Artist Showcase?
Most artists will be displaying between one and three works of original art. If you are interested in sharing some of your work, please provide a sample of your work in the form of a jpeg, pdf or digital photo. You can send that sample to pulse@blackhawkchurch.org. We must receive these samples by Monday, March 1. Because of space limitations, not all artists will be able to display. Displaying in the showcase will largely be on a first come, first serve basis. We will get back to you soon after receiving a sample of your work. When submitting your works please provide us with the following information:
- Name:
- Phone #:
- Have you displayed work before? If so, where?
- What is your art medium (photography, oil, watercolor, clay, etc.)?
- What are the exact sizes of pieces you’d like to display? And how many?
- Which church do you attend?
- How long have you attended there?
- Is your artwork for sale? If so, what contact info (phone or email) can we pass along if we receive interest on your pieces?
Also, we’re asking artists to drop off artwork and help to hang on Monday, March 8. It is important that we have all the works of art in the building early in the week.
If you have any further questions please email Melissa at pulse@blackhawkchurch.org.
